# Help! What's happening to my child 😭 ?? It was fine like a week ago.…

Help! What's happening to my child 😭 ?? It was fine like a week ago. Then just recently I notice dark kinda mushy parts showing up on some of the leaves and they are curled a bit inward on some of them. I checked the roots and they look alright to me. The soil is moist slightly from about a week ago from watering. It was kinda dry before that I think. Is this trauma from sudden watering?? I have recently sprayed a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, dawn dish soap, neem oil and a few drops of higher grade orange essential oil added to the mix cuz neem oil smells like ass. Is this something that could have caused this so fast? The plant sits in a window that gets non direct light. Please help ;\_;

Be careful using Dawn. It is not a soap but a detergent and is not tolerated by many plants. Better to use a Castile soap. I use peppermint or usually tea tree soap. I just pick it up at the pharmacy.

the soil shouldn’t still be wet after a week in a pot this size, she’s rotting. those roots aren’t functioning at their peak

I’m also curious what you were trying to treat with your potion

I'm trying to get rid of spidermites and gnats from a plant that was nearby (since quarantined) but I thought I should spray my current plants as good measure ... I'll not use dawn dish soap from now on if this is the case. Do you think I should try repotting to try and fix any potential rotting that might be happening?

i would definitely repot and really check those roots well — and probably treat them with peroxide.

(sorry i crossed wires with my previous reply so i started over lol)
