i bought these plants a couple of weeks back from an online shop. i did not water them because they still seemed a little damp when i unpacked them and then i slacked and forgot to water them for too many days after and now i think they're both dead. I've since watered and put some liquid fertilizer in both, but i have no idea if that will actually help. the pics are of my areca palm and the attached plant is an English ivy. please tell me they're saveable 😭 or even if not I'd like to know so I can get rid of them...

From what I’ve researched, fertilizing should wait until the plant has had a chance to acclimate to its new environment. There is a measure of shock all plants go through went shipped, transplanted, even moved from one area of a house to another and fertilizer can put it through even more.
That said, I’m not an expert and each plant is different. That is just a general guideline I live by.
Give them a chance to bounce back. It may not be as fast as you like but I also find many plants are much more resilient than you think.
Good luck 🍀
