# How do I get this to stop happening? I’ve pest controlled this plant…

How do I get this to stop happening? I’ve pest controlled this plant three times already, at this point I just keep it separate from the rest. Whatever it is I hate seeing it on the top of this plant specifically. Please help 🥹

ok based on this photo i’m not sure what specific problem you’re referring to (i see a couple, but no pests) but i’d like to help

what is the pest? i can tell you right off the bat that having that sphag moss is a breeding ground for mold (which i see here) and fungus gnats

Thank god, honestly it’s the mold I was referring to. But I have this next to my kitchen sink so it probably got gnats from there sadly. I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to repot or replace my moss but it sounds like I’ll have to 🤧

yeah definitely get rid of the moss, don’t replace it. the plant doesn’t need it and it just invites the gnats
