Sudden wilting and dried leaves on lemon sprouts — advice?

Two of my lemon tree sprouts suddenly wilted and developed dried-up leaves overnight. When I removed them from their pots, the roots looked mostly healthy, though there were some signs of what I suspect was root rot. I trimmed the damaged roots and repotted them in fresh soil.

Is it too late to save them, or is there still a chance they’ll bounce back? Should I let them sit in dry soil for a day before watering, or water them right away?

For context, I have six other lemon seedlings from the same lemon that look perfectly healthy. They’re all under a grow light for 12 hours a day. Could it be that they’re not drying out properly because they’re not getting enough warmth, like they would from the sun?

I use a water meter before watering to avoid overwatering, so I’m confused by how quickly this decline happened.

Sorry if this is a bit rambling—I’m just trying to figure out what went wrong so I can prevent it in the future!
