# Any idea what this is and what causes it? Just got this plant around…

Any idea what this is and what causes it? Just got this plant around a month ago, was fine when I bought it. Not been replanted, only watering when needed. Cut off the leaf it was on originally but that was a few leaves ago….

It looks like over watering, do you check the soil before the next watering ? It could be soil not chunky enough so it might not just be draining well when watering. I would check roots for root rot and repot in a chunky soil. I hope this helps 🫶🏻

Could be the soil, I’ve been bottom watering and letting it get dry on the top bit before watering

I would check the roots cut that leaf off and change the soil. I would also recommend switching weeks on bottom watering and top watering I see sometimes that also helps the plant on top to get water

I just finished repotting. Roots look great actually, nothing seems mushy. I cut that leaf off and a few others that seemed like they were starting to turn. Will alternate watering methods! Thanks for your help, hopefully this solves it!
