Can anyone help me figure out the issue? I have been following the schedule for water etc and don’t think I’m under watering my bird of paradise.

It has grown quite a lot this summer, so that’s not an issue as well. I changed the size of pot etc in early Spring. Was going to wait until after winter to again repot it. No other glaring issues, just this base and some tips of 1-2 leaves.

Also the roots are quite big now, they’ve expanded out of drainage hole and is expanding on the outside of the grow pot. Don’t have the image to show for the moment.

Possibly too much minerals or fluoride in the water?

Hmm, not sure if water source has changed at city level. But otherwise have been using the tap water.

Yeahhh could just be long enough to show on the leaves, I might get some tap water conditioner drops for the water. Also could be the roots exposed to air on the outside too and drying out more…hard to tell sometimes

You could also use rain water! Or leave the tap water out for 24 hours before watering to help get rid of chlorine. That could be it too

Let’s see, it’s supposed to rain here in DFW in few days, might as well also try that out also some fresh air outside as temps drops a little

Great idea! If you don’t want your plant outside in the cold while it’s raining, I recommend putting a huge bowl/bucket under a drain spout or gutter. It fills up in no time
