I posted on here a while ago trying to identify this plant, and I believe it’s a mother of thousands/devil’s backbone.
Since I’ve had it, the leaves have turned more red and it seems like it’s kind of hibernating? It looks like there are small sprouts on the inside of the “curled” up leaves, but it looks nowhere near as healthy as it did a couple months ago. The leaves are still firm, not hard/crunchy or mushy though.
The photo with the red background is when I originally got it. The rest are its condition now.
I definitely don’t have a natural green thumb so any advice is much appreciated!!

Oh no! I know that is frustrating! I have 5 kalanchoe (flowering variety) so hopefully I can help you tease out the issue. ❤️ Let’s start with some kalanchoe basics. It is a succulent so it needs well draining soil, a small pot with drainage, watering infrequently, and decent lighting. I’ll reassure you that it’s pretty hardy so even if the roots were rotten or most of the foliage was cut back, it can usually be saved!😊

🪴Well draining soil means a cactus soil or at least regular soil with at least 50% perlite mixed in.

🪴Small pot meaning a pot barely larger than its root system so it can absorb all the water in the pot. If it’s too big, it will just sit in damp soil. With drainage is imperative because the extra water needs to be able to run off when you water it.

🪴Water infrequently means to only water when the leaves get more bendable. The dirt should stay dry between waterings. When you do water, water until the water runs out the bottom drainage hole, than do that a couple more times to make sure the dirt is actually absorbing it. Then leave it until the leaves look thirsty. Remember, succulents store water in their leaves like water balloons so they don’t need to store water in the dirt.

🪴I said decent lighting because they prefer more light, but I have had mine in the kitchen with no light over winter and it survived. It will heavily slow down on growing and not thrive but it won’t die. I would say, it can live on a window sill, but would prefer to be outside. Mine even flowered on a north facing window sill.
