I have 2 knockabout roses and something is eating them. Do I use a general purpose insecticide or should I go a more natural route and use the vegetable oil, dish soap and baking soda method?
I am unsure of what the bugs are as I don’t see any on them at all!

Did you check under the leaves? That’s where they usually hide.

Yes and unless they are microscopic, I don’t see anything!

Slugs probably. They’re nocturnal so you’ll only see them at night. Set up some low saucers with cheap beer in them at night and if they are slugs, they will gather to drink the beer and you can collect and dispose in the morning.

Great idea. Thanks!

I agree! Slugs are not uncommon rose pests.
