# Hey all! I recently bought this monstera and am not sure if it…

_Pubblicato da PlantPupil il 2024-03-03_

Hey all! I recently bought this monstera and am not sure if it currently has pests or was previously treated for them.

There’s damage spots (maybe thrips??) on several leaves, but I haven’t seen any actual bugs. The plant itself seems to be thriving and has new growth. I sprayed it down with Earth’s Ally 3in1 plant spray just in case and it’s in quarantine from the rest of my plants for now.

I’m a houseplant newbie and looking for general advice on dealing with this!

the white spotting on the last picture is scale

Good to know! Would you recommend pruning any leaves with scale? That one was definitely the worst but there a couple spots on other leaves

i don’t think pruning is necessary at the moment. definitely treat asap with systemic granular and a contact killer too like neem oil. i believe the white spots are eggs, and they are easy to remove without having to prune leaves!
