Mold spots on staghorn fern  
Maybe overwatered? Water weekly, only the moss gets wet!

Any ideas on how to fix?

When you water it once a week, is the moss dry? Staghorns absorb water in two ways, through the leaves and through their roots. You can mist the leaves as much as daily, but you want to make sure the planting media is dry before watering it again.

This is how I water mine: when the planting media is dry, I fill up the tub (mine is too big for the sink) and let it soak for 15 minutes. Then I let it drain until it stops dripping and hang it back up. I have one in my living room that needs daily misting, and one in the bathroom which gets more humidity so I mist it about every other day. This is has worked well and I’ve never had any mold issues.

I wonder if the wood it’s on holds too much moisture and doesn’t let the moss/roots dry fast enough?

Either way, my suggestion would be to cut back on watering the plant itself and make sure to mist the fronds regularly. In my experience you can’t really over do with misting the leaves but you can overwater the plant itself pretty easily.

Also maybe add a fan nearby to circulate the air from time to time but then check it because it will dry out faster
