# Root Rot 😢😩 I have been trying to rehab this plant for a few months…

Root Rot 😢😩

I have been trying to rehab this plant for a few months and finally decided to repot to look at roots and one stem just totally rotted from roots and other is looking ok. I potted them separately and hoping for a miracle.. any tips? I am new to plant owning and trying my best :) I will include photos for reference!

(last photo was what it looked like about a month ago when i began to be concerned)

Since this happened to all of my plants the first month I feel like I can answer your question.

-just using good potting soil isn’t good enough. Try using 50% potting soil and then 50% a combination of perlite and orchid Bark (chunky soil).

-don’t let the pot be too big or it will stay wet for too long.

-I use these moisture indicator sticks (photo 2) in all of my plants now so I don’t have to stick my finger in 60 pots to see who needs water. When it turns white, I double check with my finger and if it’s all the dry then I water it.

-this is unrelated, but my plants have been thriving under grow lights even the ones in the window windows are supplemented with a grow light.
