Sorry for another post but it has NOT been a good plant weekend. Anyone have any thoughts on what this black discoloration on my Hoya Chelsea is?? Disease? Too close to a grow light?

Maybe pests?

Maybe! I looked with a microscope but didn't see anything. I wiped down the leaves just in case

No, they are nice and firm. I reached out to the seller and they just said I overwatered and to cut it off. But the soil was just damp when I got it over a week a go and I haven't watered it since. The soil is bone dry. Maybe it's thirsty? All my other hoyas tell me when they are thirsty and not like this. 😞

that’s so weird! i mean i guess it’s always possible that it is overwatering, but odd of the seller to insist that’s the issue 🤔 if it were me, i’d cut off the leaves that have the issue and see if any other leaves develop it or if it was just so weird acclimation issue. if they do, my guess would be something in the roots
