# Can someone please tell me if this is a fungus or what? When I bought…

Can someone please tell me if this is a fungus or what? When I bought the plant a couple weeks ago, it was pristine. I repotted it cuz it seemed to be in soaking wet soil. I looked at it a couple days ago and noticed some black/brown along some of the edges so I though maybe it got too much light from the lamp. I don't have it in direct sun. Then 2 days ago I saw these brownish things on the leaves. Please help!

Looks like edema, excess water that the plant pushed out through the pores. They can cause black spots, tiny bumps and scare tissue like in the picture.

I did not know that! I was really hoping it wasn't a fungus or pest related! Thank you! Is there anything special I can do to fix it?

Try to figure out the cause of the excess water:  
\- Ensure it has good airflow to dry out the excess water in the soil.  
\- Change out the wet soil if it takes a long time to dry out. Use a soil with extra aggregates like perlite, pumice course sand to help drainage.  
\- Let the soil dry more between watering. Verify the soil is dry with a wooden skewer. Don’t follow a strict schedule. 🍀🪴
