# Hi, I’ve had this Chinese elm bonsai tree for nearly a month now and…

Hi, I’ve had this Chinese elm bonsai tree for nearly a month now and its health is not doing great. I have just moved it to the window ledge to see if it will do better. Any tips for Chinese elm when they are in this position? I have just bought a soil water checker to see if that will help with when to water.

What is wrong with it in your opinion because I can’t see anything wrong with it

Since I have got it it has lost so many leaves and new shoots

Did the leafs turn yellow and drop of did they crisp up and drop

They slightly darken and slightly crisp up

Crisping up usually means under-watering usually. If they turn yellow and drop that means overwatering usually. I would personally not take planta’s watering schedule for bonsai. So increasing watering should help.
