I got Elmer about a month and a half ago. Overwatered him, so he yellowed and had about half leaf drop! Little buds have formed, how long till canopy is restored?

Also, I’m getting mixed advice on watering him. Would he like 3-4 days between watering? Or maybe more like a week in late February in central Florida?
