I have some vermiculite over from sowing seeds. I don’t know what else I can use it for. Can I switch out perlite in soil mixes for vermiculite? Or is it a bad idea?

No! Vermiculite works really good to use in soil mixes. It retains a bit more moisture than perlite so you know. But I use it for several of my plants. 😃
