# Hi! Any advice on what these small brown specs are on my monstera…

Hi! Any advice on what these small brown specs are on my monstera deliciosa? Also the yellowing leaf? This plant grows in water with a suitable fertilizer. All other leaves appear fine. It just put out a healthy new leave recently.

It looks like some kind of pest ,, thrips maybe ?

that what i had thought too, but I can see anything on any leaves

Seems like the pores of that leaf are showing up as the brown spots… maybe just killing off an older leaf?

Is it just one leaf? Do you suspect it could be over watering? If so pull it out and check the roots. Cut off any mushy roots and then return it to the pot. Do you shower it (clean it) when you water? If you suspect pests spray it with some Bonide insecticidal soap, let it set of a bit then rinse it. If you know you have spider mites or thrips, put the Bonide granuals on the top layer of the soil then water. I’d check the roots and it they’re ok, my next step would be pest control and a good shower. Good luck!!🍀
