# Is it possible you reorient the main stem of monstera minima by like…

_Postat av Audrey den 2024-03-17_

Is it possible you reorient the main stem of monstera minima by like a lot 😂 i just bought a plant, and managed to divide it in 2 (see photos of said plants in clear pots) and i want to get it to grow upward (see photo example of single vine on wall), so that eventually I can get it to go across an arch from both ends (see photo of big plant on the arch).

Do i just tie it to a stake and slowly bring it closer to the stake? Will that work or do i need to start from a smaller plant trained to go up from the start? The plants I have a pretty horizontal main stem.

Thank you!

Update: I had watered them yesterday so they were more flexible today than when I initially got them, so I was able to straighten them a lot more than I expected!

Once they start to grow and you have longer vines it should be easy for you to position them how you want!

I want to do something like this too! I hope it works out for you. I’m thinking of trying mine with an over eager philodendron I have.

In hesitated between the two but since it’s my sunniest room, i opted for the monstera and i’ll do the trailing philodendron elsewhere in the house 😊
