# I accidentally gave D’Artagnan’s a sunburn when I turned on the grow…

I accidentally gave D’Artagnan’s a sunburn when I turned on the grow light while he was too close to it. This was over a month ago, and I didn’t want to cut the leaf off. Now that he has grown a lot the leaf is starting to get tears in the burn spot.

Should I cut it off? And if so where should I cut? Should I cut near the base of the leaf? It is the front leaf.

I personally would cut it off if there have been new leaves since that one, and I would cut it as close to the base as you can safely cut. Damaged leaves can be more susceptible to pests in my limited experience
