I really want to cry right now lol my cat was swatting at a fly and she missed…instead she got one of my newer leaves of my monstera!! My plan was to wait until the new leaf unfurled and then trim off the broken leaf?

You could leave that leaf unless you don’t like it aesthetically. I would wait for the baby to unfurl and harden off before trimming. This is just precautionary.
