Could this be a root coming up alongside the pot of my Monstera? Or a baby? Do monsteras have baby’s grow up from new shoots? It’s pretty hard and firm in place.

Monster as can make pups but that looks like a root to me. Maybe it’s time for a repot!!

the other commenter seems confused, but yes that is a root. monsteras do NOT produce pups, they are fruiting/seeding plants. many people confuse growth from lower nodes below the soil as the plant producing pups, but it's simply just a new stem from an old node.

Update , I repotted and it was a regular root that had run out of space
