# hello! I’ve just purchased a monstera plant today, and upon bringing…

hello! I’ve just purchased a monstera plant today, and upon bringing it home she looks a little worse for wear than when she was on display at Rona’s. It was left in a cold vehicle for maybe half an hour, 45 minutes and the leaves are a lot softer, and some even have brown edges which weren’t there before… I assume it’s cold damage, but i have no idea if that’s correct / how i should go about treating it :( I’ve attached some photos, and for context it was probably -15° celsius outside, it went directly into the cold when i brought it out from the store, and then again from the car into the house. I had a nagging thought in the back of my head that I shouldn’t have left it, assuming it wouldn’t be fine if i was finishing an errand quickly — but i suppose canadian winters are notoriously harsh lol

(the leaf i circled is what most of the plant looked like in store, compared to the leaves im holding in the other photos)

thanks!

Happens to the best of us lol. These leaves are going to die now (I'm sorry) so you'll have to just chop them off. Thankfully monsteras grow very fast🤞🏻

I would leave them as-is while the plant is acclimating and avoid further stressors. There is still some green on the leaves to help with photosynthesis. The plant will kill them off in time. You’ll know when it’s time to cut.
