# Got this Monstera Albo top cutting a month ago! I noticed some damage…

_Pubblicato da Lucy il 2024-03-25_

Got this Monstera Albo top cutting a month ago! I noticed some damage to the petiole where the leaf shoot is when I first got it. Perhaps sunlight or grow light damage? I didn’t think much of it but I’m wondering if it will affect the new leaf? It has been growing water roots fairly well but still no sign of a new leaf developing. Is the damage effecting new growth? Any help welcomed! Also when would be a good time to transition this to soil? Picture of current water no roots below. Thanks!

The damage doesn’t look too bad. There may be a scarred section once that leaf unfurls, but it should still grow. I would wait until the roots start branching off into secondary roots. Or you can transition now if you use an alternate medium such as leca, perlite, sphagnum moss, and/or fluval stratum, in my opinion
