Do my monsteras need bigger pots? Both are about 9 in diameter. One on the right has drainage, one on the left does not.

The only way to know for certain is to check the root ball. They look thirsty to me from the pic

They definitely need to have drainage, that much is for sure. And I wouldn’t immediately jump to them being thirsty. My monstera is wilty sometimes because it’s gotten too much water and takes a while to dry out. Make sure it dries out completely before re watering and make sure there is proper drainage and you should be fine! Pot size looks great to me

I would definitely switch to a pot with drainage for the one on the left. You could put it in a nursery pot, then pop that into a decorative pot.

Monsteras like to be root bound, so I wouldn’t worry too much upsizing the pot, but if the plant is drying out very quickly, this can be a sign that the plant is drying out / the pot is filling up with roots. If it’s been a year or so since they’ve been repotted, it’s a good idea to check the roots

They enjoy being fairly root bound, so imo, based on the proportion sizes I see, I would doubt they need a bigger pot (check out the pot-to-plant ratio on mine). Drainage is a non-negotiable for sure. 👍🏼
