I was told I should cut off all my older small non-fenestrated leaves to encourage new big leaf growth. I have a pretty big monstera deliciosa. Does this sound like a good idea?

I have not heard this. I know you should keep it in a smaller pot. With either a plank or moss pole.

Each leaf helps with photosynthesis and helps the plant push new leaves. I wouldn’t trim any healthy leaves, not even small ones. They are helping support the plant.

It’s really more about the sunlight your monstera is getting that best encourages big, fenestrated leaves. Get him in a very bright window! 🌿☀️
