I’m moving in a few weeks. Opinions. Tips \& tricks welcome. Overall it’s a short trip (170miles) but y’all know how some of these can be. Any suggestions on preparing them, moving them , \&/or helping them settle??

Oooh following for the tips and tricks! I am prepping for a move as well. So far I have found some packing paper on Amazon that expands to a cardboard type texture. I’m planning on wrapping my plants in that to support the leaves and let them still breathe and get light (hopefully!!!) I also got a fresh pack of skewers that I’m going to use to secure any bigger stems. I just saw a good idea from an Etsy review of all places that I might use… lol a plant was shipped with some painters tape covering the top to secure any loose soil! Otherwise I’m just going to make sure they’re sat nice and snug in some open boxes and drive very carefully. I am also interested in any tricks to help them acclimate if there even are any🥲🙏

Jbear13 it was advised, a few days before the move, to water \& treat for pests. Are you on a long haul with them? I’m glad it’s mostly just a day trip for them

You can use Starbucks cup holders for propagations!

I just moved and I was sooo worried about my plants. For the small/medium ones I put them in laundry baskets (the rectangle ones), packed them together real tight, use some other small things to fill the gaps so they couldn’t move around, and then the laundry baskets go in the car rather than in the moving truck so they still have light and air. For anything big (my BOP) I loaded in the moving truck last and was the first thing out. Give them a good watering before; and make sure you don’t leave them inside a hot car/truck for too long. My monstera (my pride and joy) was in the front of my car with me, didn’t let that one out of my sight lol but good luck with your move!

They’ll be completely fine without light for a few days if it’s easier for you to pack them up in boxes. You can put Saran wrap over the top of the soil to hold it in place. Then use lots of packing material around the stems/leaves
