# Anyone have a magic solution for fighting rust? My boy Sully and I…

Anyone have a magic solution for fighting rust? My boy Sully and I have been fighting it since summer. I removed all of the infected leaves and have been treating him with neem oil once a week, but I’m still finding a patch here and there. He’s started giving me new healthy leaves ❤️ and I’d like them to stay that way! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Also, since I’ve removed so many leaves, should I downsize his planter?

I wouldn’t downsize the pot, the root ball is still the same size. I’ve used copper fungicide spray for getting rid of rust and been successful.

rust cannot be treated except by removing the affected foliage unfortunately. when i received a monstera with rust i cut off the affected parts of mildly infected leaves and removed the entirety of any severely affected by the fungus
