I’m a new monstera mama. What do I do with this? I’ve got her climbing a bamboo pole. Should I use something else?

It’s just her aerial root. You can leave it cut it. I typically bury mine in the pot if at all possible

Hi my dear! I actually watched a video, where someone said \*not\* to put the root in water because it then relies on it, and you can never NOT have the cup of water there 🤣 I don’t know how accurate it is - but definitely wanted to share!

ooohh interesting, could totally be true — i haven’t really done much research other than just doing it myself so thank you for sharing!
i stick em in the soil after they get long enough, luckily haven’t noticed a decline

I was told it promotes growth 🙃🙃🙃🙃 I’m sad now.

it definitely promotes growth, but sounds like i should do some more research!

you’ll likely see growth slow when putting it in soil after water, as roots grown in water will take time to acclimate to soil no matter what, but i’d hope it wouldn’t become reliant on growing in water only. plants are so silly lol
