# Hello! I received a clipping in November of a monstera and it was…

_Postat av Youngcatlord den 2024-02-14_

Hello! I received a clipping in November of a monstera and it was doing ok, then not so well it lost a big leaf and the bottom had a little rot and I dipped it in wax to seal it and it seemed to help but now I’m trying to see what my next steps should be there is rot where it was sealed off before but has a lot of roots and also roots from the ‘main bulbous stem?’ Not sure what it’s called and a baby leaf developing should I cut anything off, pot it or keep it going as is or reseal the rot after cutting some off? Any help will help 🥲 thank you and here are some pictures

definitely cut the rot off. i would cut the stem an inch or two above the squishy part, and keep cutting until all that remains is healthy tissue. make sure you use a clean tool. let it dry out a bit before you replace it. a drop or two of hydrogen peroxide in the water will help stave off rot in the future
