Hi everyone! Happy Holidays!

I’m new to Monsteras and just got one for Christmas can anyone tell me some tips for repotting, watering, and basic care?

I have a big monstera i put in my shower to water so it can be watered deeply and drain into a big tub. Same thing can be done in the sink. Make sure the soil drains but holds some moisture and it gets sun. Leave it alone!

This is a lot of help! When it comes to repotting, how do they like their soil/pot?

Mine is doing fine in a plastic pot, if you want to use a non draining pot, keep it in a plastic draining pot inside of the decorative. and monsteras like to be bushy so i don’t repot it much. i usually always make a mix of potting soil and succulent soil together for my indoor plants and tailor it to the plant. Monsteras it can be a 50/50 mix

This is so much help thank you! And last question, will a north facing window do the trick?

Depends on where you live in relation to the equator, i would say put it close to the window and see how it does. There’s also humidity + heat factors at play that all add up to “see how it does in this spot”

I live in Zone 5 so humidity sucks here, would a humidifier be necessary
