# Hi guys I just got this monstera today. Is this enough light for it?…

Hi guys I just got this monstera today. Is this enough light for it? I have it in a big screened in porch where it is completely covered in shade. Or should I move it out more in the porch where part of the porch gets more sun?

it’s suitable in the shade; but should be part shade part sun!  
either one should be fine!

It sounds weird, but get down to the plant’s level and look at how much sky it sees from its viewpoint. You wanna make sure it has a good view of open sky (no shade from trees, building, etc) and it’ll be super happy and give you big fenestrations in the leaves as they come in 🥹

These plants naturally grow out in mostly shade , too much harsh direct sun can burn the leaf

They can handle direct light, as long as they’re not getting it all day, and they will get a lot bigger faster and have more fenestrations the more light they have
