# Hello! I’ve had this monstera for a while now and have been able to…

_Geplaatst door Zac op 2024-04-11_

Hello! I’ve had this monstera for a while now and have been able to keep pretty healthy. I recently repotted it. The repotting went well and it seemed to be fine in the new pot but about 5 days after I watered it for the first time I noticed the spots that are in the pictures. I used the diagnosis tool in the app but that wasn’t super helpful. It said the plant is being overwatered but I’ve only watered it once since repotting it and the pot has several drainage holes at the bottom. Is anyone here able to help me figure this out? Thanks!

The most common cause of yellowing leaves among Monsteras is improper soil moisture–in particular, overwatering. Only water your Monstera when the top 2-3 inches of soil are dry. Soil should remain damp, but not wet. In the winter, you can allow your plant to dry out a little more between waterings.

Ok. I’ve only watered it once since repotting it. Do you think that maybe the pot is too big and the soil isn’t drying fast enough?

How big in size did you go up when you repotted?

So I should just let it sit for a while? Sorry, I’m still relatively new to this so I’m trying to understand what I need to do if I need to do anything at all.

Feel the soil moisture down in the pot all the way to the root level. If it’s too damp, make a few deep holes to help the moisture escape the soil. I’d suggest cut the sick leaf oassff and whatever part is yellowing or showing the sign of sickness If the plant has already got some other healthy leaves to sustain itself.

Did you fertilize it when you watered by any chance?

I did not fertilize it.
