# My monstera started putting out juvenile leaves again. This is the…

My monstera started putting out juvenile leaves again. This is the second one in a row recently. How can I get her to start putting out bigger leaves again? She’s under a grow lamp and in the window that gets indirect light. She’s also over 2 years old now so I feel like she should be mature? Am I doing something wrong?

everything that you’re saying tells me it’s not getting enough light, but then you said grow light. what type of grow light is it? You could also try a true sphagnum moss pole for more support for aerial roots.

I’m pretty sure it’s full spectrum, but I’ll have to check. It was cheap so it’s probably not strong enough. 😖 Do you have a suggestion for a good grow light?

I looove my Soltech lights. They’re a little bit pricey but they have gently used options for a discount. They’re really high quality

lack of light or lack of nutrients or space to grow are the most common causes of plants reverting in size. i highly recommend sansi lightbulbs. they’re about the same quality as soltech as far as i know but not nearly so overpriced. i have two larger (36W) bulbs that are so bright they’ve caused sun stress on plants directly under, while on for only 12 hours. they are very efficient and cheap to run as well.

Thank you! I’ll look into that one too. It doesn’t have a super big root system, so maybe the pot is too big. I did recently put in some of the slow release fertilizer and I refreshed its soil like a month ago.

Do you just hang the bulb or do you put it in some kind of lamp or stand?
