Hi can I propagate this leaf? I don’t think this shoot is going well? I can’t tell the new shoot seems to be growing but it’s brown?

Would you be able to take another photo with flash? From what u see that actually looks like the cataphyll (where the leaf comes out) and then the shoot would be coming out of that to the left
