# I have had this monstera for about 6 months and i just noticed this…

I have had this monstera for about 6 months and i just noticed this thing popping out. Does anyone know what it could be? It’s not a cataphyll and I don’t think it’s a new leaf since it’s all brown no green. It’s also stuck on I cannot pull it off. Help pleaseeee 😌

It looks like an aerial root

It’s an aerial root. You’ll soon see many. It’ll probably get crazy long. Look it up 👍

As Hassett said, it’s an aerial root. You can leave it or stick it into the soil. It helps stabilize your plant until it’s ready for a moss pole. Happy growing.
