# Why are the leaves so droopy? Did i put it too straight when I tied…

_Postat av Audrey den 2024-03-10_

Why are the leaves so droopy? Did i put it too straight when I tied it to the pole?

I’m very new at plants. I bought this one on Facebook marketplace. Repotted twice because I realized the first pot was way too big 🤦🏻‍♀️ She’s now in a clear 6in nursery pot so I can see better when the soil is dry.

I water and mist per planta’s advice. Soil is potting soil + perlite + coco coir. The soil was dry for at least 2in when i last added water + fertilizer a week ago.

She’s in a room with a large south facing window, but she’s about 8ft from the window.

I’m winging it and learning as I go!

So - any thoughts on why it’s so droopy and what I should do?

Thank you! 😊

How long since the last repot?

Just a few days.

But it was already a bit droopy before that, but not as much

I’d say it’s still in “shock” from repotting. They usually droop like this when they need water.

Also, don’t strictly follow the watering schedule, when it says to water, check the soil. Only when dry - whole pot, not just 2”, do I water again.

You may want to consider adding orchid bark (the chunky type vs mulch) to your soil mix. This provides a bit more aeration.

When you water, make sure to drench thru the soil. Water should run out of all the holes in the pot. Honestly, SOAK them and then let them dry out

That’s what I’ve been doing when I water it :)

Should i wait to add orchid bark to the soil since it’s already been repotted twice in a short time? Just wait a few months then upgrade the soil?

Should always wait 2-3 weeks after getting a plant to let it acclimate or else it can cause shock as well I’m sure it was shocked from being moved and than repotted I only repot immediately if im buying a sick plant to inspect everything including the roots if their not sick than I let them acclimate for sure than repot if need be
