# This monstera is driving me crazy. I got it from a friend just about…

_Posted by Heather on 2024-02-05_

This monstera is driving me crazy. I got it from a friend just about a week ago, and I’m convinced something is wrong with it but I don’t know what to do. I actually repotted it today because I was worried about root rot, but aside from a few dark roots, everything looked good. It’s just been so weak and droopy looking, with wrinkled leaves. Any advice?

Is that a grow light it’s under or are the blinds usually open? I’d say give it a bit of time. It’s in shock right now for moving to your home and being repotted.

Let the soil dry out, fertilize at 1/2 strength if you don’t have a grow light and talk to it A LOT! 😊

It is a grow light! I open that blind throughout the day but I supplement a little extra in the morning and evening. Haha okay, I’ll do my best to be patient. I have the tendency to overdo it sometimes.

It looks fine for being repotted and moving. Trust me I know the go overboard and hyper focus on “saving” a plant!!!! 😂

it would be helpful to have the support behind the plant, so that the roots rest on it. also if this were my plant, when it’s healthy i would cut it in half, root and plant the cutting with the bottom half when it’s repotted again
