# I finally got my dream plant! This little beauty is my third monstera…

_Posted by Mother Earth on 2025-01-13_

I finally got my dream plant! This little beauty is my third monstera and my first Thai Constellation. So excited to watch it grow and mature and fill out! Any suggestions on how to make it thrive are totally welcome! Currently it has its own grow light about 12 inches above it, and its own humidifier.

She's gorgeous. What's her name?

I always try to come up with fun or unique names but I’ve been struggling with this queen. I think I’ve settled in Dao which is star in Thai. But still workshopping. I just want her to be happy!

I think that pot is too big for the plant. It looks like a 5inch pot?
Pot sizes too big will cause watering issues, which in turn will cause root issues. And growth is slowed down while the roots try and fill the pot. May I suggest clear plastic pots, so you can see the root growth.

That’s an interesting observation! I hadn’t thought too much about the pot size to be honest. It was the smallest one I had at the moment that still had proper drainage. Would it stress the plant if I repotted it again so soon?

I’d repot sooner than later. I recycle my kids Starbucks cups and plastic food containers. I buy clear plastic cups from the dollar store. Heat up a spare screw driver and poke holes in the cups. That monstera Albo is prob 5 times the size of your plant and it’s living in a small drink size bubble tea cup. The others are an example of the cups I use from the dollars store.
