# I don’t like all the open space under the canopy of my large…

_Pubblicato da TabbyTai il 2026-09-29_

I don’t like all the open space under the canopy of my large monstera, Matilda. Considering planting a pothos with her. Has anyone tried this? What struggles might I have? Could it negatively impact the growth of my Matilda? (She’s already two stems sharing a pot). I appreciate your advice!

You could in theory, my only concern would be that their roots would eventually intertwine and it would damage both plants if you wanted to eventually take them out. Also repotting a little bit more often, but other than that they have similar watering schedules and honestly it would look quite nice, especially a Pearls and Jade!

I have a pearls n jade I could pop in! That would look cool.

You could have her climb the pole with your monstera! I have a snow queen on a post.

That is very pretty. My snow queen is trailing. I like the pole idea. Does it make the leaves bigger?

Yes! She got a major hair cut in the Spring though so she is bouncy back!
