The sticky traps work well but you still need to treat the soil for larvae and eggs. Check into Mosquito Bits. Some people use hydrogen peroxide as well.

Death drops from happyhappyhouseplant are absolutely the best thing I have used to get rid of fungus gnats. Also- using soil-less soil in houseplants (coco core, peat moss, perlite, leca- I make my own mix) and avoiding big prepackaged potting soils. If using prepackaged potting soils sun sterilize and rinse with … something … hydrogen peroxide. Not sure because I do t use prepackaged potting soil in my indoor plants. Don’t overwater- really moist soil promotes gnats. I use blue light gnat attractant sticky traps- they are available on Amazon - the ones with a fan that plugs in are really really effective. But killing them at every age of their lifecycle is key.

Also want to add if you don’t already, bottom watering ! I’ve noticed a big difference since bottom watering 💧

I second the death drops!!! Absolutely worth the price!!! I had a bad bad infestation (like real bad) and was able to eradicate it within about 2 rounds of watering all my plants according to their individual schedules. I am also a big big fan of the plant food. I would actually recommend treating new plants even if you bring them home and repot. I think the soil I bought (fox farms ocean) had some larvae.
