_Pubblicato da emma 🪴🌞 il 2024-02-16_

i just repotted this guy in a better potting mix to recover from being over watered, he is still so droopy so i wanted to know how long i should wait to water him? he’s got 3 new baby leaves at the bottom and i really want to encourage them to grow but don’t want to over do it. all advice appreciated!

How did the roots look when you repotted it? I would add more perilite to your mix, otherwise you might end up still over watered. I see there are also some chunky pieces in there which is GREAT! You might lose a few of those super droopy ones. The ones on the right look just fine!

I wouldn’t water again until it’s dry all the way thru. If you can get a couple stakes (or moss pole) it can also help it thrive.

i don’t have perlite, i did put a generous amount of orchid bark and a little peat moss in there, though. the roots looked a lot better than i was expected they were still thick and firm.

Do you put a moss pole as well? They are apparently climbing plants and need some support as well.

i had some wooden stakes with ties that i can use for now. i’m sure a moss pole is a much better sturdier idea.

You don’t need a moss pole, you can use a wooden stake or trellis just as easily (and cheaper too). The important part is to give them something to climb up.
