It took awhile for me not to freak out about aerial roots even though my sister said they were normal. Lol

It should be a growth point. The nodes are typically in that exact spot where the previous petiole meets the stem. Sometimes they stall at that point though and don’t grow into a new off-shoot unless the main growth point is chopped or damaged
