i'd like a monstera for my next plant :) anything i should know before going into it?

My best advice is to understand/ acknowledge that it will get BIG and you’ll need to have space for a very large houseplant that needs a good amount of light. I think you also need to be comfortable trimming off leaves that don’t cooperate in trellising/staking because they want to spread out wide instead of tall, which means it will take up even more space.

With over 100 plants, many of them years old, in my small house pruning and shaping plants is a must for me. Like this leaf in the back of my m.d. I’m going to break down and chop it soon to keep things tidy.
