# I was gifted this monstera Albo for my birthday. Although I won’t be…

I was gifted this monstera Albo for my birthday. Although I won’t be taking care of it right away (I’m going on vacation and don’t want it to die so my best friend is watching it for now), I would like to know how to prepare for it. Is it just regular monstera care or are there other things I need to know? She’s so gorgeous I would hate to kill her! Any advice and tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much!!!

all i know is that they need an absurb amt of humidity

I’ve read that although the all white leaves are beautiful they can’t photo synthesize so you’ll want to chop any all white leaves off.

Yeah I was afraid of that :( do I have to chop down to the last green leaf?

I’m not sure how green it should be but yes you don’t want any all white leaves. I would google it to make sure!

The all white leaves are okay to leave on as long as you have plenty of other ones with green. They love humidity and the more you give them the faster they will grow. When finding them a spot, think about imitating the way they grow naturally for best results. You can use hooks for large stems if you want it to climb or let it trail on a shelf or floor. It grows much quicker when you find a sweet spot. If you give it absolutely perfect conditions, it may actually flower for you. It is extremely rare and usually only happens in the wild, but my eldest monstera, (adonasii albo) has done this once although I have never gotten a bloom out of any delicosa variety. Hope this helps!

You need to chop it or the plant will die.
