# I need to repot my monstera deliciosa asap but my moss poles won’t be…

_Publicado por Ella el 2024-05-25_

I need to repot my monstera deliciosa asap but my moss poles won’t be here till the 29-jun 5th! Should I repot now and then repot again when they get here? I’m worried it’s going to die the leaves are curling

I personally would not use that type of pole for several reasons but the main reason is it’s a chore to keep them moist. I would use one like this. Since it’s closed on the back there’s less surface area exposed so it stays moist longer and easy to add on to as your plant grows

Why do you think that you need to repot as soon as possible? Is the plant severely root bound? Does not look like it from the pictures or roots would be coming out the top of the soil. You should be fine for a whiiiiiile in that pot before needing to repot.

The roots were coming out of the bottom!

I find they actually like to be a bit root bound so it won’t hurt whilst you wait for the moss pole, you might actually get new growth whilst it’s a little root bound!

A couple roots out the bottom is completely normal. I’d recommend waiting until the roots have completely filled up the current pot before upsizing. This is my Thai Con for example. It’s actually overdue for a repot, but I’ve been lazy. 😅
