# I am wondering if I can get some advice on this monstera I have had…

I am wondering if I can get some advice on this monstera I have had for a little over 2 years now. The lower leaves are changing yellow then brown, but i still have some new growth at the top.  
Is there a chance i am dealing with root rot? Or is this just the plant prioritizing which leaves will grow?

I’m by no means a monstera expert, but I’m concerned there’s not enough potting mix in the pot and the plant isn’t getting enough nutrients. Because he’s big and beautiful and looks great at the top! 💚

i would check the roots and put more soil in and it probably doesn’t have enough nutrients to keep the old leaves but produce more so i would invest in some tropical plant food and give it to it straight into the soil one pump and then water it to flush it through! i hope this helps!
