# So I had my monstera since June 2023 and started to grow them in…

So I had my monstera since June 2023 and started to grow them in water around August 2023 once i noticed a lot of browning. I recently had to cut two new baby leafs as they came in yellow and brown around the edges but two new ones recently popped up that looks decent. It’s been really dark, cold and raining in houston so sun is not on my side. I’ve been thinking about putting them back in soil and purchasing a small grow light but i’m not sure anymore. The picture on the left is from September and the right picture is the most recent one from November. This would be my second monstera that dies and i’m trying so hard but i’m unsure at the moment. Any advice?

i’d highly recommend potting them in some rinsed perlite. (you can even use these same containers) if you don’t have any already it’s easy to find at hardware stores for around $5 per bag
