# I got this Swiss cheese Monstera about a week ago and just noticed it…

I got this Swiss cheese Monstera about a week ago and just noticed it has this stuff on the leaves, anyone know what this is and what I can/should do??? 😞

Looks like might be pests. You can spray it with neem oil thoroughly and don’t put in strong light because the oil makes the leaves more sensitive to light.

Just ordered some insecticidal soap spray and gnat traps, is that ok?

I haven’t used soap spray before but I think it does the same thing! You would be able to see gnats flying around if those were an issue. The white specks look like spider mites maybe to me.

Yea I don’t have any thing flying around, I think they might be spider mites😞

it defo looks like pests. i bought a gentle pesticide and my plant is perfectly fine spraying directly on leaves (from a safe distance so it sprays evenly) once those have been cleared, id have a warm damp microfiber cloth and gently wipe the leaves supporting either side with your hand as your wiping them down to keep the leaves clean of dust or residue
