A neighbor gifted it to me - I’ve… _Fadra님이 2023-11-17에 게시함_ I need help with my new monstera! A neighbor gifted it to me - I’ve been wanting one forever and I’m terrified of killing it! I don’t have a proper planter for it (I don’t think), so I put it in a cookie jar for now (lol). There is no drainage, but I think that’s okay as long as I don’t overwater? Looks like the roots are really healthy! I’d do your best to find a pot with drainage. Plants like to be thoroughly watered thru. The only way to do that is to allow water to run out the drainage holes. Monstera’s are pretty resilient, but you’re definitely taking your chances. Water growing is fine but ideally the want you to mimic a tropical rainforest!! Some dirt some orchid mix and they like steam. The answer lies in You. No drain holes and you better be very attentive. Maybe rocks on bottoms to let some drain. Don’t overwater either don’t under water the leave will dry and yellow on tips!! I would keep it in fresh water (change weekly) until you find a pot with good drainage and some good soil. Monsteras are picky when it comes to soil, so do research in the meantime.
