Hi everyone! So I am not by any means a plant person. I am absolutely clueless, but a few months ago I found where someone in my apartment building had trimmed their plant (which I’m pretty sure is a monstera? That’s what the plant ID said at least) and tossed the trimmings by the dumpster, so now I have kids! I made the cuttings smaller and then placed them in water to propagate them, and I think it’s now time to repot them but I’m so scared they’re gonna die lol any recommendations on how to start the process?

Also please don’t come for me for the state of the little jars 😭 I’m trying my best but like I said I’m not good with plants which is why I’m here. I also rescued a fiddle leaf from the same dumpster and somehow kept it alive so I figured I’m starting my plant parent era.

Great job!

You can put all of them or several of them together in one large pot! They do like to be a little root bound though, so don’t give more than 1-2” on the sides of the plant stalk for now

Look at those roots! You’ve done a great job! I would suggest potting a couple first to see how it goes. If it doesn’t go well, you can try to troubleshoot without risking losing them all. Honestly though it’s pretty easy. Make sure to get a monstera-friendly chunky mix- very important. Keep them a little on the moist side for a week (NOT sopping wet though). Then you can gradually start watering less until you’re on a schedule you would keep a regular potted plant on. I highly recommend using clear plastic cups/pots so you can monitor root growth and health. Plus it’s fun to watch them grow! Monstera roots grow insanely fast. That said, I would keep the clear pot inside a not clear pot, if that makes sense. I don’t like my roots to get too much sun exposure. Good luck and you got this!

I’m so happy for you.
